Sojourn uses a combination of thematic instruction, flexible scheduling and hands-on activities, students are provided opportunities to acquire skills to be college and workplace ready for 21st century success. The curriculum includes all academic courses in alignment with the Common Core State Standards, as well as, Spanish, Art, Career Education, Technology, GED and post-secondary, college-level courses through partnerships with Essex County Community College and the University of Phoenix. Every classroom is equipped with SMARTboards, desktop computers, iPads and Chromebooks.
Sojourn High School offers a host of extracurricular activities including Modern and Litergical dance, Public Speaking, Poetry Jam sessions, Mock Trial experiences, and Spring Junior-Senior Prom.
As aligned with its mission, Sojourn High School students receive substance awareness counseling--individual and group--using a therapeutic approach.
