Chapter 193 Services

Overview

For those students who have a Service Plan Chapter 193 provides a litany of services tailored to the needs of the individual students.

These services include:

Child Study Team:

The Child Study Team (CST) provides Evaluation and Determination of Eligibility Services in compliance with the N.J.A.C. Title 6A, Chapter 14 and PRISE (Parental Rights in Special Education).

An Annual Review, which is completed a year after an initial or re-evaluation, consist of the following:

Supplemental Instruction:

ERESC provides Supplemental Instruction (SI) to students with a Service Plan in addition to the primary instruction for the subject (ELA and Math) being taught in the general education classroom. All direct instruction is tethered to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for the different grade levels. The teachers use multiple engaging learning activities that reinforce the skills learned in the lesson.

Speech and Language Services:

The Speech-Language Therapist provides articulation, language and fluency skills in compliance with NJAC Title 6A, Chapter 14 and PRISE (Parental Rights in Special Education).

A 407-1 form generates testing by a Speech-Language Specialist. Testing includes, but is not limited to:

All evaluations, reevaluations and annual reviews are completed consistent with the timelines and procedures established by N.J.A.C. 6A:14. Parent involvement is strongly encouraged at all meetings.
